What we do

CARE cannot prevent droughts, floods and cyclones from occurring, but we can help the world's poorest people survive these disasters by giving them preemptive support with long-term benefits.

CARE helps the most vulnerable people become self-sufficient by training them and offering them concrete solutions. This means that the support doesn't run out when the project money does.

Acting before disasters strike is worth the effort. For every dollar spent on disaster prevention, seven dollars are saved in emergency aid.
